Biles together with her twins Adria Biles and Ronald Biles were adopted as young children by grandparents of Houston. Simone first became interested in gymnastics while she was only six years old. Coach Aimee Borman invited her to Bannon's Gymnastix, where they went on an excursion. Biles took home a medal in vault, and a bronze medal in floor at the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. In 2011, she began competing in elite levels of the sport. Two years later, she was the most dominant athlete in the field. Biles's consistent, exuberant personality and the level of effort in her four events -vault uneven bars, balance beam floor exercise as well as floor exercise -- made her above the others.
